The BH67R2136 is an OTP (One-Time Programmable) type 8-bit high performance RISC architecture microcontroller specifically designed for battery powered applications (1.8V ~ 5.5V). Offering users the cost-effectiveness of OTP Memory, this device also includes a wide range of functions and features. Other memory includes an area of RAM Data Memory.
The advantages of low power consumption, I/O flexibility, timer functions, oscillator options, R to F converter, LCD driver, Power down and wake-up functions, watchdog timer, as well as affordable features, enhance the versatility of this device to suit for thermometer and home appliance applications.
Analog features include a Resistance-to-Frequency (R/F) converter which converts resistance value to frequency for precise temperature measurement. Multiple and extremely flexible Timer Modules provide timing, pulse generation and PWM generation functions. Programmable high source/sink current I/Os are provided for LED driving applications. Protective features such as an internal Watchdog Timer, Low Voltage Reset (LVR), and Low Voltage Detector (LVD) coupled with excellent noise immunity and ESD protection ensure that reliable operation is maintained in hostile electrical environments.
A full choice of internal high and low oscillator functions are provided including a fully integrated system oscillator (MIRC) which requires no external components for its implementation. The ability to operate and switch dynamically between a range of operating modes using different clock sources gives users the ability to optimize microcontroller operation and minimize power consumption.
With regard to digital thermometer applications, the device has integrated many of the functions required by these products. These include functions such as the R/F converter for NTC sensor measurement and LCD driver (up to 12 Seg x 3 Com or 11 Seg x 4 Com). The inclusion of flexible I/O programming features, 16-bit Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) function, and Time Base functions enhance the versatility of the device to suit for cost-effective temperature measurement products.
