The BH67F2132 is a Flash Memory type 8-bit high performance RISC architecture microcontroller specially designed for very low voltage, especially one-battery (1.5V) applications. Offering users the convenience of Flash Memory multi-programming features, this device also includes a wide range of functions and features. Other memory includes an area of RAM Data Memory as well as an area of true EEPROM memory for storage of non-volatile data such as serial numbers and calibration data.
The advantages of ultra-low operating voltage (1.1V~2.2V), low power consumption, I/O flexibility, timer functions, integrated R to F converter, LCD driver, and watchdog timer, enhance the versatility of this device to suit single-cell battery thermometer applications.
Analog features include a highly accurate 2-channel R-F (Resistance-to-Frequency) converter coupled with a 16-bit Timer, which replaces traditional ADCs to provide precise temperature measurement using NTC sensors. The device also includes an EL (Electroluminescent) backlight driver, a Low Voltage Detector (LVD), and a Buzzer driver. These integrated features ensure reliable operation and reduce external component count.
A choice of internal high and low oscillator functions is provided, including a fully integrated system oscillator (HIRC) with selectable frequencies (32/64/128kHz), requiring no external components. The ability to operate in different modes allows users to optimize microcontroller operation and minimize power consumption for extended battery life.
With regard to Contact Thermometer applications, the device has integrated many of the functions required by these products. These include functions such as the R-F measurement interface, LCD driver (up to 21 seg × 3 com), and EL backlight output. The inclusion of flexible I/O programming features and Time Base functions along with the internal EEPROM for calibration enhance the versatility of the device, making it the ideal solution for high-precision digital thermometers.
