HT16K33A LED Controller Driver with Keyscan The HT16K33A is a highly integrated RAM Mapping LED Controller designed to elevate the user interface of modern healthcare devices. Communicating via a 2-wire I²C interface, it minimizes MCU pin usage while driving up to 128 LEDs (16×8 matrix) with 16-step digital dimming for premium visual effects. Additionally, it features a built-in 13×3 Matrix Keyscan circuit, efficiently handling user input without burdening the main MCU. Its ultra-low standby current makes it an ideal companion for battery-powered blood pressure monitors.
Features
Integrated Control & Interface
- - Matrix Keyscan: Built-in 13×3 Key Scanning functionality allows direct connection of buttons to the driver, offloading the main MCU and reducing GPIO requirements.
- - I²C Communication: Uses a robust 2-wire I²C interface to communicate with the host, significantly simplifying PCB layout and reducing connector pin count.
High-Performance LED Driving
- - 16×8 Matrix Support: Capable of driving up to 128 individual LEDs or alphanumeric LED segments.
- - 16-Level Dimming: Integrated PWM circuit provides 16 steps of digital brightness control, allowing for premium visual effects like breathing lights or day/night mode adaptation.
System & Power Efficiency
- - ntegrated Oscillator: Internal RC oscillator eliminates the need for external crystal or clock components, reducing BOM cost.
- - Ultra-Low Power: Designed for portable devices with optimized standby current (Typ. 1μA), ensuring long battery life even in "Soft-Off" mode.
